We had a great turnout Friday and Saturday. The girls from RSVP are getting into things with a little help from another member who has been showing them the ropes. Thanks Jen!
A lot of things get lost in translation it seems. We try to teach the use of a tool to people but sometimes they just don't want to learn. They would rather it just be done for them or that they should not have to think about how to use it. They focus on little things they think are important only to miss the big picture altogether.
Like someone focusing on a detail of business that they regard as highly significant (and it may or may not be) but it is only significant in light of the furthering of the business. Now imagine the person making this detail the focus while neglecting the fact that the business was growing or expanding rapidly (apparently due to some other reason/s since this one detail is lacking). This is straining out a gnat yet swallowing a camel, as pointed out to me by a very enlightened friend this weekend. Thanks B! (I told you that quote was going up on the site, lol)
Sometimes people mix up what is important. We focus on things rather than people and processes rather than results. In my experience I have yet to see even one exception to this rule: people always trump things and results beat processes - hands down.
“But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
-2 Corinthians 12:8-10
(Paul was the MAN btw)
