Today we had the first in a series of "Learning to Fish" Nutrition classes. Thank you to Damion for providing his indepth knowledge and guidance on this important subject. The take-home message (or at least one of them) was hormonal (insulin) control and how to achieve this through proper nutrition. Please submit topics of interest and questions that you would like to have addressed at the next gathering.
Great job, Damion, and THANK YOU!!!

Damion talking about the EPOCH.

“In all the controversies over what the causes of diversities might be, no one seems to have paid much attention to the factor in the environment that has the most obvious effect on any organism: food.”
- Michael Crawford & David Marsh, The Driving Force: Food in Evolution and the Future
“To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art.”
- La Rochefoucauld
“He that takes medicine and neglects diet, wastes the skill of the physician.”
- Chinese Proverb
Stomach: A slave that must accept everything that is given to it, but which avenges wrongs as slyly as does the slave.”
- Emile Souvester
I found this listed as an “improvement” of the well-known proverb:
“Give a man a fish, you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish, and you will not have to listen to his incessant whining about how hungry he is.”—Author unknown
